You Are Here – Montpellier

Starbucks You Are Here – Montpellier might be one of the last mugs from the YAH collection. Montpellier is a city in southern France close to the Mediterranean Sea. This location made it an important municipality of the Crown of Aragon in the 13th century. Montpellier is home to one of the oldest universities in the world – Université de Montpellier, which was established in 1220.
The front of the mug showcases La Fontaine des Trois Graces (The Three Graces Fountain) from La Place de la Comédie.… Read more

Been There – Pennsylvania 2

Here’s a long-due release of Been There – Pennsylvania 2 mug. And just to give you some context, the mini-version (ornament) was updated to v2 a long time ago. Similar to that release, Been There v2 brings the following changes:
– “Youse!” instead of “Youze!”. Both are used as an alternative form for “you” (singular and plural) in certain regions of the USA (and some other English-speaking countries).
– “TURN-PIKE” now has the dash in the name and refers to the Pennsylvania Turnpike (a.k.a Penna Turnpike or PA Turnpike).… Read more

Been There – University of Washington

Starbucks Been There – University of Washington is finalizing the list of mugs from Campus Collection for now. There is a big chance there will be more of this kind this year, so stay tuned for the news.
The University of Washington (also informally known as U-Dub) was founded in Seattle in 1861, making it one of the oldest universities on the West Coast. The city itself was founded just ten years prior, and it was growing along with the university since.… Read more

Been There – Orlando 2

Been There – Orlando v2 is another revised version of the existing mug. I’d rather Starbucks issue mugs for the new locations, be it cities or parks, but I’ll take v2 as well!
As you can see from the comparison collage below, even though the change is somewhat obvious, being on the front of the mug, it’s not as big, when compared with this recent release, as an example. Specifically, the “Theme Park Capital of the World” nickname is gone now.… Read more

Been There Ornament – Universal Studios Resort

Starbucks Been There Ornament – Universal Studios Resort is being finally released, almost three years after its full-size sibling. I was quite disappointed back then since ornaments hold a special place in my heart. Thanks, Starbucks, for fixing this!
The new ornament, unlike the latest Disney minis, has fewer elements in the design, when compared to the bigger mug. The box is orange and the string is blue.
Going from the right to the left of the ornament, here’s what we see:
There is the entrance to Universal Studios Florida (a.k.a.… Read more

Been There – Nevada 2

The moment I saw Been There – Nevada v2 mug photo I thought it was just some issue with its color balance. The mug was not supposed to be blue, but rather red and orange. Just to be sure, I’ve compared this photo with the pictures of the Nevada mug from this post. Well, what do you know, it turned out to be the new, v2 version! Check out the comparison picture below. The first thing we see on the front of the mug is that the bird has changed.… Read more

Been There Disney – Epcot 2

And last but not least from the recent Disney releases, is Been There Disney – Epcot v2 mug. The list below is what Starbucks designers have used as inspiration for the mug. Please note, that some of the symbols that can be seen on the mug, are not a part of the park anymore. The way I understand it, they are included to pay homage to the park’s discontinued attractions and as a part of the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration

Been There – Arizona State University

Yet another mug from Campus Collection, Been There – Arizona State University has been released this week. It seems that apart from Starbucks stores inside the university campuses, you can buy this mug around the city as well. ASU is a public research university located in Phoenix, one of the largest by enrollment in the U.S. It was founded in 1885 as Territorial Normal School.
The front of the mug shows the Future Sun Devil Welcome Center which is a mixed-use facility that also serves as the ASU School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment and the Sun Devil Marketplace.… Read more
