You Are Here – Hulun Buir

Starbucks You Are Here – Hulun Buir makes it the 81st YAH mug from Zhongguo (the Middle Kingdom in Mandarin, a.k.a China), and that’s not counting the Christmas Edition mugs.
Hulun Buir, located in Inner Mongolia (autonomous region of the PRC), is probably the least populous and the northernmost Chinese region that got the mug. This region is governed as a prefecture-level city and that makes it one of the biggest cities in the world by area (though very uncrowded).… Read more

Japan mugs from Been There Collection are out!

The variety of mugs that Starbucks offered in Japan was always different compared to other countries: a very limited amount of icons, five country YAHs (although depicting different seasons!) and a very unique “Japan Geography Series” that I have yet to add to the site.
But with this epic release of twenty Been There Japan mugs, Starbucks sets a new milestone for the collectibles from the Land of the Rising Sun. And even though some collectors are not big fans of the Been There series, they have to admit, that it allows a much better depiction of the place the mug is coming from, due to the simple fact that it contains many more elements on the sides of the mug.… Read more

Been There Ornament Disney – Animal Kingdom 2

Along with the bigger mug Starbucks has released the WDW 50th Anniversary ornaments as well. Please meet Been There Ornament Disney – Animal Kingdom 2
If you compare the ornament to the full-size mug, it becomes obvious that Starbucks decided to not create a custom design by rearranging or removing the elements, as is the case for all other ornaments from Been There series. This time artists went with a full copy of the design of the mug, just making it smaller.… Read more

Been There Disney – Animal Kingdom 2

Like I’ve mentioned in the previous post, two parks got new releases so far, and Starbucks Been There Disney – Animal Kingdom 2 is the other mug from today. Again, we can see the gold box and the big “50th Anniversary” detail on the cover. I am waiting for the better pics of the mug and the box, especially the side with the legend mentioning all the elements from the mug. Stay tuned for the full review!

Been There Disney – Hollywood Studios 2

The rumors about the releases commemorating the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary have been in the air for quite some time. And it is now official, Starbucks has revealed the new mugs and ornaments for at least two parks today.
This is Been There Disney – Hollywood Studios 2 and as you can see it’s quite different from the “regular” releases, even Disney ones. The box is not orange anymore but has a rather gold color and the top of the cover reminds us about the 50th Anniversary of the WDW.… Read more

Icon – Turks & Caicos

I was not expecting to be adding any more Icons to the collection, but this one is special. Starbucks Icon Turks & Caicos is a very limited edition mug that either was never offered to the public or the whole lot was acquired by one person! My understanding is, that the reason it was not produced in bigger quantities, is that by the time the first store on the Grand Turk Island has finally opened, Starbucks had already switched to Been There collection.… Read more

Been There – Texas 3

This is not a regular release, but rather a limited edition mug, that won’t be available to the public. Yes, it seems that Been There Texas 3 will be a “very hard to find mug” unless you work for or with Starbucks Texas.
As you can see from the images below, it is drastically different from Texas v1 or Texas v2 (which are almost identical). However, the moment I saw the new mug, I’ve realized I’d seen this design before. A quick review of the previous releases brought me to Been There Dallas mug.… Read more

Been There – Sacramento

Here’s the brand new mug – Been There Sacramento. It seems that Starbucks will be releasing mugs for more and more US cities, which is great. The design of this mug is using a color palette similar to the San Francisco mug and is featuring many points of interest and landmarks of the city.
I would like to mention one of the symbols of Sacramento, which is its nickname – the “City of Trees”. Indeed, the city has above average number of trees per capita when compared with other major cities in the United States and the world.… Read more
