You Are Here – Germany

We had eleven German cities released prior getting to this one – Starbucks You Are Here Germany mug. Believe it or not, this is the 12th mug from this country.
As for design, this is probably the first time when I can name all elements from the mug easily:
– sun and mountains
– German sausages – there are literally hundreds of different German sausages. Important to note, that sausage names like Bratwurst, Kochwurst, Rohwurst, Brühwurst, Blutwurst or Leberwurst do not represent a particular German sausage, but a sausage type which is made in a particular way.… Read more

You Are Here – Geneva

YAH collection is continuing to expand in Europe with the fresh release of Starbucks You Are Here Geneva mug. The color scheme is pretty interesting. The front of the mug is mostly green.
– there is a red statue I can’t identify (I tried hard, trust me)
– four 15-foot-tall statues of Geneva luminaries on Reformation Wall (Mur de la Réformation)
– running shoes – for Geneva Marathon (The Harmony Geneva Marathon for UNICEF) – is an annual marathon held in May

The rest of the mug is mostly blue and shows:
– beautiful Lake Geneva – it is one of the largest lakes in Western Europe and gives you absolutely stunning views with mountains in the background.… Read more

You Are Here – Leipzig

Another mug from Germany, actually 11th one, You Are Here Leipzig.
From the mug:
– Bundesverwaltungsgericht – Federal Administrative Court – one of the five federal supreme courts of Germany. It serves to resolve administrative law cases between the state and citizens (being their last resort).
– Völkerschlachtdenkmal (Völki) – Monument to the Battle of the Nations commemorating the Battle of Leipzig (1813) which ended up with the defeat of Napoleon. It was another important step done by the Sixth Coalition to end the war.… Read more

You Are Here – Utrecht

Starbucks keeps delivering! Second 2018 YAH is here and it is You Are Here Utrecht, straight from Netherlands. This colorful mug is the sixth from this country.
From the mug:
– Beaches along the banks of river Rheine.
Utrecht Centraal – largest and busiest railway station in the Netherlands
And that’s pretty much it. Although I really like recent YAHs, especially the choice of colors, I would include more landmarks for Utrecht. Specifically the iconic Domtoren, a 14th-century bell tower with city views or the Gothic Cathedral of St.Read more

You Are Here – Rotterdam

Christmas is over, hence no excuse to not release new YAHs! Welcome brand new You Are Here Rotterdam, the fifth Dutch mug from this series.
From the front of the mug:
The Erasmus Bridge – the 2,631 ft (802m long) bridge across the New Meuse completed in 1996. Due to asymmetrical shape of it’s main pylon, the bridge earned it’s nickname “The Swan”
– City Skyline
– soccer ball – for Feyenoord Rotterdam I believe – a professional soccer club which has a huge national support.… Read more

You Are Here – Nürnberg

You Are Here Nürnberg – new mug from Germany. Again we see local variant of the name (English version is Nuremberg).
The front of this colorful mug is filled with multiple landmark buildings. Among those we can see Nuremberg Castle a group of medieval fortified buildings which is considered to be one of Europe’s most formidable medieval fortifications.
On the back they placed the lion, representing Nuremberg ZooRead more

You Are Here – Stuttgart

Another regular YAH today – You Are Here Stuttgart. Just a reminder – this is the ninth German YAH so far! –
From the mug:
New Castle – built between 1746 and 1807
– Schlossplatzspringbrunnen – two fountains in front of Schlossplatz (square)
Cannstatter Volksfest – autumn fair (beer-fest and funfair) – lasting for three weeks from late September to early October… Read more

You Are Here – Netherlands

I do remember the days when Amsterdam was the only International mug from YAH series! It appeared in 2013 for a short time and was considered HTF till it has been re-released again in 2016. Since then we had two other Dutch cities and this month, finally, You Are Here Netherlands.
It has very aesthetically appealing design and I bet I saw these bikes somewhere else (Oregon?).… Read more

You Are Here – Lucerne

As I mentioned before, October brought us two Switzerland releases. This is the second You Are Here Mug – Lucerne. It is as colorful as other two Swiss YAHs and is probably designed by the same person.
Lucerne is a very popular touristic destination due to it’s location on the shores of Lake Lucerne and within visibility of Pilatus and Rigi mountains.
So far I can only recognize Kapellbrücke – a covered wooden footbridge across the Reuss… Read more

You Are Here – Switzerland

We only had Zurich from this “square flag country” and voila, two new mugs has been released this October.
Please welcome You Are Here Switzerland. This is a very colorful mug and we can see blue mountains, green highlands, Swiss watch and a cow (for Swiss cheese?)
Did you know,
– Switzerland has four national languages: French, German, Italian and Rhaeto-Romantsch (with Latin roots). English is increasingly popular – 60 percent of the population are proficient in English.
– The Swiss eat 11kg of chocolate per person per year more than any other nation in the world.… Read more
