Since these cute mini cups always had a particular place in my heart, I was more than happy to learn about the release of the Starbucks You Are Here Amsterdam Ornament. For some reason, I was hesitant to add this trio of Holiday mugs from the 2020 Christmas season to the site but decided that it actually makes sense to include them in the collection. In fact, there was no fair reason to not compare them to previous releases:
– they do belong to the “You Are Here Collection” and the boxes they come in look like other Christmas YAH boxes (see the pics below)
– their design is a revision of the respective city Christmas mugs from the previous years (see the comparison for Paris, London, and Amsterdam)
– there were no other Holiday mugs released for these cities at the same time
– these are 14oz mugs, the same size as other YAHs (see the photo of the bottom of the mug)
It’s worth noting, however, that even though they can be stacked with other YAHs, they are shorter (again see a comparison picture below).… Read more
You Are Here Christmas Glass Amsterdam is the third and last of Glass City mugs released in 2020. Similar to others, it’s design is based on previously released (2017) YAH Christmas Amsterdam. Interestingly enough, that was the only Christmas version of this city mug, as opposed to Paris and London that had two.
Again, when comparing two mugs side-by-side it seems that all elements match, except for their location on the mug. As an example, the Christmas hat has been moved from being closer to the handle, to the left of the front of the mug.… Read more
Finally here!!! This time it’s real but it looks different compared to the rumored one from the last year! So technically it’s a second version of Amsterdam Christmas YAH. I believe someone has the first, never released version in his collection, wow!
Alright, so the picture of the mug from 2016 is really small, still let’s compare:
Noticeable differences:
– different place for Christmas tree
– Christmas bows are missingĀ in the new design
– waves are just outlined and not filled with gold color
Another comparison with the regular Amsterdam YAH:

– Christmas gift-box floating in the water
– a snowman was added close the water

Starbucks You Are Here Amsterdam was the first European mug from this series and for quite some time, it remained the only YAH from outside of North America. It is important to note, that the original release of 2013 was limited and the mug was considered HTF (hard to find). Three years later, Starbucks released it again with the same design but slightly different shades of blue and grey colors, which was probably due to the different manufacturer of the mug.… Read more
This Icon mug came from Amsterdam, Netherlands. Dark Blue is used as its theme color. Brouwersgracht can be seen on the front of the mug and Bike on the back.
