While the release of the mugs for the new collection is at full steam, some minor updates were noticed for the series that is retiring. When placing Been There Ornament – Alaska 2 side by side with the v1, I see the following differences:

– the size of the Denali (formerly known as Mount McKinley) was reduced, and the name of the park, “DenaLi Nat’L. PaRK,” was placed underneath. It is unclear why the designers chose this spelling, as I could not find it used elsewhere.… Read more

Similarly to the previous collection, Starbucks released the Special Edition country mugs for Japan. In fact, each season gets a custom interpretation of the regular mug’s design.
Been There – Japan 2 Spring Edition is dedicated to the spring season, known as “haru”. It is a breathtaking tapestry of renewal and vibrant beauty. Cherry blossoms, or “sakura,” symbolize the essence of this season, painting the landscape in shades of pink and white as they bloom across the country. Been There Christmas – Manila 2 (2023) was released together with this mug. It is pretty easy to get lost between Philippines releases, so here are some distinctive features of this particular mug, that will allow you to tell it apart from others:
1. The box and the inside of the mug are purple
2. The design replicates the regular mug but has a Christmas (red) reusable cup next to the name of the mug

I am finally adding Starbucks Been There Christmas – Philippines 2 here, so you can have a proper understanding of the Special Edition mugs from the Land of Smiles. This particular release was spotted during the 2023 Holiday season. It resembles the Summer Edition which I’ve reviewed recently, except instead of black, Starbucks used gold color to outline the elements of the design. When compared to the Philippines Christmas v1, this new version doesn’t have any Holiday-themed elements, except for the red cup right next to the palm tree.… Read more

Starbucks Been There – Boracay 2 – Summer Edition 2023 is the fourth and final mug from the last summer batch release. I wonder if there is going to be a new version soon. Let’s keep an eye on that.

Been There Ornament – Louisiana 2

Starbucks Been There Ornament – Louisiana 2 introduces subtle changes to the existing release. The easiest way to tell two versions apart is to look at the group of three musical notes next to the tiny Starbucks coffee cup. The new version has all of the notes to the right of the cup, while the old version had one to the left and two to the right.

Other changes include:
– an additional musical note on the back of the mug;
– one of the mosquitos is gone and the other one changed the place (so two versus three in total now);
– two sets of flowers are removed;

Additionally, I am only seeing the “made in China” version of the new ornament, it can be identified by the glossy string.… Read more

Been There Ornament – Mississippi 2

As you probably remember, Starbucks released a revised version of the Mississippi mug recently. Now, the same update was done for the mini mug as well. When compared to the first version, Been There Ornament – Mississippi 2 has the cotton branch removed and some other elements changing the size and the position in the design:

Been There – Cebu 2 – Summer Edition 2023

Starbucks Been There Cebu 2 Summer Edition 2023 is the third mug from last summer’s batch release. Similar to others it has the design of the regular mug outlined in black. Do you see how the Starbucks reusable cup is not red? This tells us that the mug is not a Christmas edition, but rather something else.

Been There Ornament – Illinois 2

I was expecting the release of the Starbucks Been There Ornament Illinois 2 long time ago, since the bigger mug came out back in 2019. The updated version is finally here, and it seems that the only difference compared to the Illinois Ornament v1 is the dashes in the name of one of the State’s landmarks.

In one of my previous posts, I mentioned that last summer there were four Philippines mugs released in the scope of a mini sub-series. Starbucks Been There Manila 2 Summer Edition 2023 is one of them.
