After so many Christmas YAH mugs from the last holiday season it was somewhat obvious that Starbucks will try the same approach for the new Been There series at some point. Yet, I was pleasantly surprised that Been There Christmas edition mugs are now set to be released as soon as this November.

Based on initial rumors, the following city mugs were expected, but had not been released along with other BTs: Boston, San Diego, Charlotte, Atlanta, Detroit and Los Angeles. Since there was a lot of confusion around misprints found on Been There mugs, I believe it makes sense to consolidate all the information about them in one post.
Let me start with a little bit of history. We’ve seen misprints in the past. A very good example can be Montréal and Quebéc mugs, where the version with accent quickly replaced the one without accent. Those two mugs are pretty expensive now, but many collectors don’t consider this to be a different version and don’t even bother getting it.… Read more
In the light of the recent release from Starbucks and Disney, it was brought to my attention that this is actually not the first mug dedicated to a specific Themed Land within corresponding Disney Park. Let’s start with California. If we look at the bottoms of California Adventure 2 and Disneyland 2 it turns out, that the first is based on the Paradise Pier and the second is based on the Fantasyland. The king is dead, long live the king! It was somewhat expected that Starbucks will discontinue You Are Here Series at some point. Still, most of the muggers were shocked to know that it’s already happening. According to the latest rumors, there will be no new YAHs for US and Canada, instead, a new series is being released this March – please meet “Been There Collection”!
Here’s what is known about new mugs so far:

Last year, I was really excited to add YAH Christmas Amsterdam and Barcelona to Starbucks-Mugs.com in anticipation of their immediate release. However, to my disappointment, they have never been released. And if for Barcelona there was no pic at all, Amsterdam in it’s turn had some photo from apparently Starbucks presentation or something like that.
This is why I am adding You Are Here Christmas – Thailand as a rumor so far. Let’s hope this mug will be released this holiday season and join YAH Christmas family.… Read more
You probably remember my previous post about China YAHs coming out. We had some bad quality pics of Christmas and one regular YAH. Everyone agreed that the last one is probably Hangzhou. But if you look at the newly leaked pics – it seems like Hangzhou will have a different design. I am now confused which one is real. I tend to believe the last news, since insiders even announced the date – mid September.

It was only yesterday when I complained about no new releases recently and voila, we get some rumors about China You Are Here releases. See the pic? I can’t believe my eyes – Christmas YAHs in June? Really? Starbucks, please have mercy. So far we see three mugs. Two of them are: Shanghai, Nanjing. The third one is hard to identify.

Hello muggers. Can you just imagine if there were more US Christmas YAHs than just Hawaii and Pike Place Market released? Well, look at the picture. It’s hard to believe, but it turns out Starbucks had plans for more Christmas YAHs – at least two – New York and Seattle. God knows why these were never released, maybe it was supply shortage or they didn’t like the design.
