Icon – Turks & Caicos

I was not expecting to be adding any more Icons to the collection, but this one is special. Starbucks Icon Turks & Caicos is a very limited edition mug that either was never offered to the public or the whole lot was acquired by one person! My understanding is, that the reason it was not produced in bigger quantities, is that by the time the first store on the Grand Turk Island has finally opened, Starbucks had already switched to Been There collection.… Read more

Been There – Texas 3

This is not a regular release, but rather a limited edition mug, that won’t be available to the public. Yes, it seems that Been There Texas 3 will be a “very hard to find mug” unless you work for or with Starbucks Texas.
As you can see from the images below, it is drastically different from Texas v1 or Texas v2 (which are almost identical). However, the moment I saw the new mug, I’ve realized I’d seen this design before. A quick review of the previous releases brought me to Been There Dallas mug.… Read more

Been There – Sacramento

Here’s the brand new mug – Been There Sacramento. It seems that Starbucks will be releasing mugs for more and more US cities, which is great. The design of this mug is using a color palette similar to the San Francisco mug and is featuring many points of interest and landmarks of the city.
I would like to mention one of the symbols of Sacramento, which is its nickname – the “City of Trees”. Indeed, the city has above average number of trees per capita when compared with other major cities in the United States and the world.… Read more

You Are Here – Euskadi

Here’s an interesting release for a country within a country. Officially, it is the Basque Autonomous Community, but probably a more common name is “The Basque Country”. Starbucks chose to use the local (Basque) name for the mug, hence the title is You Are Here Euskadi.
Speaking of the language, it is very important to note, that the Basque language (Euskera) is not related to Romance languages (Latin) like Spanish or French, and is one of the oldest languages that are being spoken today.… Read more

Been There – Oklahoma 2

It has been almost two years, since an updated version of the Oklahoma ornament was introduced. I have been monitoring the web and keeping an eye on a similar revision for the full-size mug. My understanding, is that there were so many v1s produced that Starbucks had to wait till all the inventory is sold out. The change that Been There – Oklahoma 2 introduces is an addition of an apostrophe to “Boomers’ Paradise”, see the comparison photo of v1 and v2 below.… Read more

Starbucks Been There Arizona 3 mug

Been There – Arizona 3

A similar change to what’s just happened to mini mug we can witness with the release of Been There – Arizona 3. The best way to distinguish the new version from v1 and v2 is to look at the front of it and spot the “Red Rock Sedona” label that’s replaced the “Grand Canyon” (it has been moved to the back of the mug). Another element that can help is two chili peppers just below the title.
If we count the Christmas version too, we now have four variants of the Arizona Been There mug.… Read more

Been There Ornament – Arizona 3

It seems that rather than introducing new locations, Starbucks decided to review the existing ones. You probably remember that Arizona has already seen a revised ornament and a mug, shortly after the new collection came out (it seems that “the Sand Hill State” was not exactly the nickname Arizonians recognized).
Well, as I said, Starbucks has gone even further and completely updated the design with the release of the brand new Been There Ornament – Arizona v3. As you can see from the comparison picture below, most of the design elements of the ornament were rearranged.… Read more

Been There – Barbados

Starbucks Been There – Barbados mug commemorates, in a way, the official opening of the first Starbucks store in this island country from the Caribbean region. Located at Haggatt Hall, Bridgetown (the country’s capital), it welcomes its first customers starting today (July 30).
The mug showcases the flora and fauna of the island, which is one of the major touristic destinations of the region.
I am seeing Carlisle Bay, with Bridgetown in the back. This natural harbor has been turned into a marine park which became a popular spot for scuba diving.… Read more

Been There – Kentucky 2

Long time no see, Starbucks. The most recent release brings the update for the “Bluegrass State”. Been There – Kentucky v2 introduces the change from “Mammoth Caves” to “Mammoth Cave” on the front of the mug. Although, the more I look at the mugs (see comparison picture below), the more I think it was actually “Mammuth”. They’ve definitely changed the look of that “o” (or was it “u”?). What do you guys think about it? Leave a comment below, please.
