Been There – Chile

Starbucks Been There – Chile is one of my favorite mugs from South America probably because of the color palette they chose for it. Here are some symbols and points of interest for this country that can be found on the mug:
– The Andes or Andean Mountains (Cordillera de Los Andes) – are the longest continental mountain range in the world with the length of about 4300 miles spanning across seven countries! Aconcagua is the highest peak being 22,841 ft high.… Read more

You Are Here – Changde

Starbucks You Are Here – Changde is supposedly the first one from the new batch of 11 Chinese mugs coming this Fall. You heard it right, Starbucks is adding 11 new YAHs for China in addition to dozens released already. Well, more mugs, more fun. It is also an opportunity to learn something new about the places you’ve never been to before (but probably going to visit someday).
The first mentions of the settlement in this area are dating back to as far as 8,000 years ago.… Read more

Been There – Cordoba

Starbucks Been There – Cordoba is the fifth and the last Argentinian mug from this series for now. It is the second-most populous city in Argentina and one of the oldest Spanish settlements in this region.
Here are some points of interest worth visiting:
– La Cañada de Córdoba is the canal going through the whole city. It’s a quaint, tree-lined avenue with iconic, stone walls and bridges that is a great pleasure to stroll along.
– The Arc de Córdoba (Arco de Córdoba) was built in 1943 and can sometimes be seen on the postcards as the symbol of the city.… Read more

Been There – Rosario

Starbucks Been There – Rosario is yet another mug from Argentina. Rosario is the third most populous city in the country and a major port sitting on the west bank of the Paraná River. It is worth noting that it’s still not clear what is the actual foundation date of the city. Some say it’s October 7, 1793, however, most of the historians claim that the only right date is August 3, 1852, when town known as Pago de Los Arroyos (“land of the streams”) was declared a city.… Read more

Been There – Mendoza

Coming back in time to review some BT mugs from South America. Starbucks Been There Mendoza is the mug from Argentina with blue, yellow and orange colors prevailing. Here are some symbols of this city:
– A line of trees with what seems to be the road is a part of the green belt in the western part of the city, known as Parque General San Martin. It is a system of tree allees, roads and irrigation canals built entirely by people who decided to settle here and make it a nice place to live.… Read more

You Are Here – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – Saudi National Day

You Are Here – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – Saudi National Day is a special edition of the regular YAH. It has been released to honor the celebration of Saudi National Day which is held every year on September 23 to commemorate the renaming of the Kingdom of Nejd and Hejaz to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The mug is designed using a green color palette. Green is the main color of the flag of the country and represents Islam.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Denmark

This is You Are Here Ornament – Denmark, a smaller version of the bigger mug released a year ago. It has a light blue string and features some of the points of interest and symbols from one of the oldest countries in Europe:
– Multicolored row houses became a trademark of the old city architecture of some countries from Nothern Europe. My understanding, it is Nyhavn Canal which is depicted in particular. The boat in front of the houses might be additional proof for that.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Japan 5 Fall Edition

You Are Here Ornament – Japan 5 – Fall Edition is a little cute mug which is accompanying the bigger one. These two are going to be available in stores just in two days – on August 30. I wish I was in Japan now, to snatch a pair of these for my collection. I bet drinking your favorite beverage from these Autumn themed mugs as nights are getting longer is twice as tastier.

You Are Here – Japan 5 Fall Edition

Breaking news (as it usually happens with the releases from the “Land of the Rising Sun”)! You Are Here – Japan 5 – Fall Edition mug continues series of Japanese mugs, ornaments, and tumblers. These were so popular from the get-go, that Starbucks decided to have one version per season, and that’s what makes them so special.
This time the mount Fuji is wearing the red clothes which along with the falling multicolored maple leaves on the front of the mug are supposed to symbolize the Fall colors.… Read more
