Starbucks Been There Ornament – Pennsylvania v2 is an updated version of the previously released mini mug. It brings two changes as far as I can see – the deer now says “Youse!” instead of “Youze!”, “TURN-PIKE” has the dash in the name. It seems that most of the recent changes for Been There mugs are related to dashes, I see them everywhere. Remember when I’ve asked you to stay tuned to see whether North Carolina will get v2? Well, it took Starbucks almost a year to introduce the fix into the regular mug. Again, the Christmas version came fixed already. Anyway, here’s Starbucks Been There – North Carolina v2, where “WHITE WATER FALLS” has been changed to “WHITEWATER FALLS”. Again, thanks to a reader of my blog with an eagle eye, I’ve discovered that there were two mugs I missed to add last Holiday Season! And here’s one of them, You Are Here Christmas – Istanbul 2 mug which is very unique in a sense, that it is the only Christmas city mug with the red handle!
Below, is the collage of all three Istanbul YAHs side by side. As you can see, there are couple other elements making Christmas v1 and v2 different, apart from the red handle, namely:
– the Christmas tree and snowman have switched places
– there are two additional candy canes on the right
– the small ship now carries a gift box
– the tram on the front of the mug is now missing the huge bow, which was initially introduced with v1

Since Starbucks is on hold with new releases, I decided to check the status of the “second versions” which I expected to come out. After the update of the Maryland Been There mug, the release of the matching v2 ornament was just the matter of time. And here it is, Been There Ornament – Maryland v2
As you can see from the image below, the only difference is switching “Chesapeake State” nickname, which didn’t make any sense anyway, with the official tree of the state, White Oak.… Read more
There have been some updates in the design of existing mugs recently. One of those is Been There – Illinois v2. The only change I see are dashes between the words in Cave-in-Rock, a 55-foot wide riverside cave formed by wind and water erosion. Indeed, it is the right way of writing the name of this landmark of the Ohio River, city and State Park.
Starbucks Been There Ornament Michigan v2 is finally here and I have to mention, that the bigger version of updated Michigan mug was spotted almost 3 months ago. As a reminder, the only change, the new mug is introducing, is “Winter Water Wonderland” slogan being replaced with “Water Winter Wonderland”. And as I’ve suggested earlier, I consider this a fix and not just a revision, since there was, obviously, the wrong motto used for v1.… Read more
I didn’t really expect that I will be adding another Icon to the site, actually it has been a while since I’ve added the last one. So, here’s Icon – Slovakia v2 mug, a 2019 unicorn. Again, what makes it special, is that it has been released for a small European country, long after YAH and BT series came out.
Similar to recent YAH Ornament release, this mug is featuring Bratislava Castle, the landmark overlooking the capital city (built in the 9th century on the hill above Danube river).… Read more
Thanks to a very vigilant Facebook user, it was brought to my attention that there is another Canadian mug revised by Starbucks. Been There – Montreal v2 introduces the update for “Parc du Mont-Royal”, which was “Parc du Mont Royal” in the initial release (v1). Even though it was a minor, hardly visible error, I think Starbucks did the right thing fixing it.
Starbucks Been There – Maryland v2 has two elements updated:
– there was this “nickname”, “Chesapeake State” which didn’t make any sense. I could not find any source which callled Maryland that way. This controversial detail has been replaced with White Oak, official tree of the state.
– “Oh say can you see…” has been replaced with “O say, can you see…” and I am not sure how accurate it is. There are slightly different variations of the “The Star-Spangled Banner” out there in internet.… Read more
Here’s the second Canadian BT mug which has been revised – Been There – Ontario v2. The change is much bigger than Canada v2 from my previous post. In particular, Starbucks removed “The Heartland Province” nickname making adjacent elements bigger; the “Ice wine” has been switched with “Icewine”, which is the proper way to call the wine made from grapes that have been left to freeze naturally on the vine.
