Been There – Missouri 2

Dash is another very popular “fix” for the BT series mugs. Starbucks Been There – Missouri v2 replaces “SHOW ME STATE” with “SHOW-ME STATE” right on the front of the mug. And I can clearly understand the designers because I was able to find both readings from the official sources. Just look at this “welcome” sign that can be seen as you enter the state by road, then two license plates. It is indeed confusing.

There are multiple versions where this nickname is originating from.… Read more

Been There – Kansas City 2

This could be the smallest change among all BT v2s so far. Starbucks Been There – Kansas City v2 adds a dot on the sign of the intersection of 18th and Vine streets. In particular, “VINE st” became “VINE st.”
Should you decide to collect both, please be ready to answer the same question from your friends, over and over: “Why are there two identical mugs in your display?”

You Are Here Christmas – Italy

With Christmas just around the corner, I gave up on seeing Holiday Edition mugs from Italy. Boy, was I wrong! It has been revealed today, that Bel Paese gets both Christmas full-size mug and ornament.
As you can see, You Are Here Christmas – Italy has traditional (for the last two years) design with the red handle. Let me remind you, that there are not that many stores in this country. In fact, only two cities have Starbucks stores – Milan (most of those) and Turin (only one so far).… Read more

Been There Ornament – New Jersey 2

New and “improved” Starbucks Been There Ornament – New Jersey v2 comes right after the bigger mug. As I’ve mentioned before, the change includes the “Northern Red Oak” writing on the front of the ornament, which is the proper name of the official state tree of New Jersey (adopted in 1950). The photo is provided by a reader, which confirms that the new version is already available in stores.

Been There – Calgary 2

Starbucks Been There – Calgary v2 is another updated Canadian mug design, which again includes a minor change. Very similar to the BC mug I’ve reviewed last week, it has an apostrophe added to the landmark’s name: “ST. PATRICKS ISLAND” becomes “ST. PATRICK’S ISLAND”. It’s one of Calgary’s oldest parks, which invites visitors to enjoy family-friendly space since 1890. Btw, it’s even got National Urban Design Award in 2016.

Been There – Texas 2

Starbucks Been There – Texas v2 introduces a minor update to the “Colorado river” writing on the side of the mug, which becomes “Colorado River”. Is that a significant change for you to have both in your collection? Let me know in the comments.

Been There – British Columbia 2

Here’s another revised mug from Starbucks, Been There – British Columbia v2. You probably remember that missing apostrophes is the Achilles’ heel of the company’s designers. They already had to fix a couple of mugs in the past because of that, and as we can see, we’re not even close to the end. Anyway, the “HELLS GATE” becomes “HELL’S GATE”, which is the proper name of an abrupt narrowing of Fraser River, located in the Canadian Province of British Columbia.… Read more

Been There – New Jersey 2

Starbucks introduces the updated version of the previously released mug, Starbucks Been There – New Jersey v2. The change they bring in is that “Red Oak” is replaced with “Northern Red Oak” right on the front of the mug. Funny enough I was mentioning this tree in my review of the NJ ornament, but it didn’t come to my mind that Starbucks was planning to “fix” that. It also means that the small mug will also be replaced, stay tuned for the update!… Read more

You Are Here – Nantong

This is a new release from China, Starbucks You Are Here – Nantong mug.
Nantong is a city in Jiangsu province. It is located on the northern bank of the Yangtze River, near the river mouth. It was and remains an important port due to deep waters and canals. Interesting to note, that Nantong is getting further from the seashore year by year, due to the silt added by the Yangtze River to its delta.
– The front of the mug is occupied by the Sutong Yangtze River Bridge which connects Nantong and Changshu.… Read more
