Been There – Canada 2

Here is another revised BT mug. The change we see in Been There – Canada v2 is really subtle. You actually have to play “spot the difference” game here. If you, like me, could not find it right away, here is the spoiler: the only difference is the comma in the line “The True North, strong and free”, which is a weird decision, since the official text of the Canadian anthem doesn’t have that comma. With this new releases, Starbucks is actually bringing more questions, rather than fixing things.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Romania

There will definitely be more than 10 new ornaments this season. Why? My assumption is, we’re going to get the regular versions of all Christmas Edition minis, plus other countries as well. We’ve already seen Slovakia and here’s another one: You Are Here Ornament – Romania. Since this is a complete copy of the regular mug, please check this post for a full review. … Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Slovakia

An unexpected, but pleasant release – Starbucks You Are Here Ornament – Slovakia. Please note, the full size mug has not been spotted yet. From the ornament:
– Bratislava Castle – the castle in the Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. It was built in 9th century on an isolated rocky hill in the middle of the city and was then rebuilt in 1956-1964. Due its size and position it became a symbol of the city. Here’s Interesting fact, since Bratislava is located at the intersection of three countries: Slovakia, Austria and Hungary, you can see other two from the walls of Bratislava Castle
– The Slovak National Uprising Bridge in Bratislava, a.k.a.… Read more

You Are Here – Turkey

It took Starbucks six city mugs before releasing You Are Here Turkey country mug. Unfortunately I was not able to identify the building on the front of the mug, but it is definitely something from ancient times.
Thanks to a comment below the post, I’ve realized I was wrong about the building on the front of the mug. It is in fact Anıtkabir (literally, “memorial tomb”) – the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. It was opened to public on September 1st, 1953 to honour the leader of the Turkish War of Independence and the founder and first President of the Republic of Turkey.… Read more

You Are Here – Romania

It is now confirmed that Starbucks You Are Here – Romania has been released along with Christmas Edition mug. This one has popping colors with the flag of Romania standing out, which is a vertical tricolour of blue, yellow, and red. Interesting enough, this flag is almost identical to the one of Republic of Chad, with only difference being that the blue is lighter on the flag of Romania or more specifically, ‘cobalt’ opposed to Chad’s ‘indigo’ shade. On the top of that, two other countries share similar flags:
– the Republic of Moldova – same colors and stripe size, but with coat of arms added to the yellow stripe
– Andorra, while having the same colors, has coat of arms on the yellow stripe while, which is also wider than two other stripes… Read more

You Are Here Christmas – Romania

No regular mug has been released for Romania, nonetheless here’s the picture of Starbucks You Are Here Christmas – Romania. In other words, Starbucks went straight ahead with Holiday Edition. While waiting for a better pics, I can only recognize Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest. It was designed and supervised by a team of 700 architects with the Anca Petrescu being the head architect. The construction has started in 1984 and even now it’s still not completed. Unfortunately there are some dark sides of it, as it was ordered by Romanian dictator, Nicolae Ceaușescu, who needed it at any cost.… Read more
